Guidelines for Authors
Manuscripts are submitted in Greek or English. Authors guarantee that their articles have not been published or submitted for review in another publication. In the event of the publication of a similar article, this must be disclosed by the author. Four identical printed copies, along with one electronic copy, should be submitted to the publisher’s address:
Gravias 9-13, Athens, 10678
E-mail: epeksa@otenet.gr, dionicos@otenet.gr
The articles are reviewed by at least two anonymous reviewers. The author’s name and other details, as well as the title of the article, must be submitted on a separate page from the main body (title, text, bibliographic references). Submitted articles must be accompanied by two abstracts, each not exceeding 100 words, and five keywords in both Greek and English. The length of the articles should range between 6,000 and 8,000 words, including abstracts and references. Manuscripts of rejected articles are not returned.
The Harvard citation system is used for references. Citations within the text include the author’s surname and the publication year, e.g., (Esping-Andersen, 1990, Kleinman and Piachaud, 1993). Direct references must also include the page number(s), e.g., Ferrera et al., 2002: 230. For multiple references by the same author in the same year, distinctions should be made using a, b, c, etc., for the year. Bibliographic references (not bibliography) are listed alphabetically at the end of the text. Authors are requested to ensure the precise matching of in-text citations with the alphabetical list of bibliographic references at the end of the text and vice versa. References to books should provide the author’s name, year of publication, book title, place of publication, and the publisher’s name. E.g., Scharpf F., (1999), Governing in Europe: Effective and Democratic? Oxford: Oxford University Press. Journal article references should include volume, issue, pages, and the article title in single quotation marks. For example: Atkinson A.B., Marlier E. and Nolan B., (2004), “Indicators and Targets for Social Inclusion in the European Union”, Journal of Common Market Studies 42: 47-75. References to chapters in edited volumes should include the chapter title in single quotation marks, followed by the author and title of the edited volume. E.g., Leibfried, S. and Pierson, P. (1995) “Semisovereign Welfare States: Social Policy in a multitiered Europe”, in: Leibfried S. and Pierson P., (eds), European Social Policy: Between Fragmentation and Integration, pp. 43-77, Washington D.C.: The Brookings Institution. Book and journal titles should be italicized. It is recommended that explanatory footnotes be kept to a minimum. If deemed necessary, they should be numbered in the text and provided at the end of the article. Any acknowledgments should also be placed at the end of the article. Articles not complying with the above guidelines will be returned to the author for necessary adjustments.
Books for review should be sent to Theodoros Sakellaropoulos at the publisher’s address.
